Dear friend,

Come join us for the 5th session of

Bengaluru Speaks

An evening of uncommon conversation.

This Month's theme:
Urban Indian Values: Tradition vs. Change

Date: Friday, November 28th
Time: 6:30-9:00 pm sharp

Venue: Ashirvad (30 St. Mark's Cross Road)

Down the street from Koshy's, across from the State Bank of India.

This is a free public event.

All are welcome.  Invite your neighbors, colleagues and friends.

Come be part of the successful series of monthly community Dialogues where you and other Bangaloreans can engage in honest and constructive conversations about issues that matter to you and your city.

Last month's Dialogue on Violence in Urban India was intense. Participants were challenged to reflect on how their lives are impacted by communal violence and terrorism as well as how their perspectives on the subject are potentially biased. Meta-Culture's Conflict Resolution professionals facilitated the discussion, posed questions and ensured certain ground rules. The dialogue was intense, respectful and thought provoking.

The previous two series of dialogue were on the theme of public violence and proved powerful and challenging. The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, yet with much more to explore. However, Bengaluru Speaks is a platform for talking about issues that matter to Bangaloreans and the city, and public violence is not the only issue we face, so we decided to put the topic aside for a while.

This month, MCD will challenge participants to explore the topic: “Urban Indian Values: Tradition vs. Change”

Participants will explore in greater depth the issue of values in India's cities.  Are the values changing? Why, or why not?  Either way, is this a good thing? How does this affect you?

Subsequent Bengaluru Speaks will take place on the 4th Friday of each month

The December session will take place on the 3rd Friday, December 19th.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Sincerely,

Beth Fascitelli
